Team Member Spotlight: John Langford

Here at ADB, we are lucky to have dedicated team members serving our customers across the country. John Langford, Safety Coordinator, is passionate about our people and spends his days traveling the country meeting with our crews to ensure they are utilizing best practices to stay safe and are always staying ALL IN for ZERO. John (and his truck!) have been to some amazing places and our company would not be the same without him.

He’s been everywhere, man!

Missouri | Illinois | Indiana | Ohio | North Carolina | South Carolina | Florida | Maryland Tennessee | Kentucky | Georgia | Alabama | Louisiana | Texas | Arkansas | Kansas Colorado | Iowa | South Dakota | Montana | Wyoming | Idaho | Utah | New Mexico Arizona | California

John joined the ADB family over 20 years ago as a laborer. Through hard work and a dedication to professional development, John worked his way into project management which gave him the opportunity to begin traveling across the country. He joined the Risk Management team in 2020 and is excited to continue to spread and enhance our safety culture to every team member across the nation

“I would tell you that our safety culture and is the reason why we are who we are today. The Safety Team has done an unbelievable job over the years and leadership has 100% bought into our safety culture. We still have to work very hard at keeping it going as we grow, but I think that we as a company have an industry-leading safety culture that is hard to beat and I’m incredibly proud to be a part of it.”

John joined the construction industry in high school. Going to a tech school allowed him valuable hands-on experience that shaped his passions. Being able to work with his hands and see the end result is very rewarding and encourages him to improve every day. Since joining the team, John has consistently felt empowered by his team and in his work. Even as a laborer, he knew his opinion was always valued and he credits this as one of the most important aspects of his growth at ADB.

“This company has been so great to me over the years. My favorite thing about ADB is the empowerment that I get from my team members and leadership.”

Through his growth and travels across the country, John has seen many things and learned valuable lessons that have impacted his career. For him, the most important thing he has learned is the value of patience. The construction industry is driven by production which can lead to an urge to rush through tasks to get them done, putting the quality of the project and the safety of the team at risk. Practicing patience, having an open mind, and looking ahead for planning will lead to success on any project. Every job has its unique set of challenges, but it is amazing when you can overcome those challenges and be successful as a team. If John could give one piece of advice to someone wanting to join the industry, it would be:

“Be a sponge, learn different ways of doing things, ask questions, and never stop learning.”

ADB works hard to live out our mission and core values – SACRIFICE – every single day. Of all our core values, John sees Integrity lived out the most within the company. To him, Integrity means doing the right thing no matter who is watching, looking professional while doing so, and taking pride in your work. John prides himself on his Integrity and it has certainly helped get him to where he is today.

When it comes to the future, John sees himself as a member of the Risk Management Team for the rest of his career. He truly enjoys helping new team members and veterans alike with whatever they need. He is proud to be ALL IN for safety and loves sharing in that enthusiasm with team members across the country. ADB his John’s career destination and he thinks that everyone should consider joining the ADB family.

“I believe that with hard work and passion, you can be anything you to want to be at ADB. There are so many opportunities here and the growth we are experiencing is truly amazing. I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon.”

John, thank you for your dedication to all things safety and for you beautiful truck photos! You are an integral part of our family and we are so grateful to have you in our family.
