ADB recently visited the Southeast Lineman Training Center in Trenton, Georgia, taking an important step toward a future collaboration focused on workforce development and long term growth. The visit reflects ADB’s continued investment in building strong talent pipelines and supporting the next generation of skilled infrastructure professionals.
Representatives Morgan Meyers, Rhett Barth, Skylar Pitman, and Sean Maher spent time on campus engaging directly with SLTC students and staff. The visit provided valuable insight into SLTC’s hands on training environment and its role in preparing individuals for careers across electric utility and communications infrastructure. In addition to traditional lineworker training, SLTC offers advanced industry programs focused on the evolving needs of modern infrastructure, including fiber optic splicing, safety training, crane operation, and emerging technologies.

During the visit, the ADB team presented to multiple classes across several SLTC campuses. These sessions introduced students to ADB’s role in building and maintaining critical infrastructure and highlighted the range of career opportunities available within the organization. Discussions focused on how students can transition from training into field roles while continuing to grow their skills and careers within a safety driven, performance focused environment.
SLTC staff led the ADB team on a tour of the training facilities. The tour included pole yards where students develop climbing, rigging, and line construction skills, along with a fiber splicing center that reflects the growing demand for broadband and communications expertise. These environments demonstrate how students are prepared for both traditional utility work and modern infrastructure projects.
This visit helped establish a strong foundation for a future partnership between ADB and SLTC, with more details to come. Together, the organizations are exploring opportunities to create a clear pathway from training to career, supporting workforce development while providing students with meaningful, long term opportunities in the infrastructure industry.

This was an interesting read and I enjoyed browsing through the discussion. I checked out the Reaction Time checker and found it very straightforward. The simple format and fast results make it a nice little challenge for anyone looking to test their responses.

I was just reading about ADB’s tour of the pole yards and fiber splicing center over my morning coffee, and it really hit home how training now mixes old-school climbing with tech skills like fiber optics Image to Image AI
The ADB visit to the Southeast Lineman Training Center highlights how important workforce development and technical training have become for the energy sector. Building strong partnerships between institutions and industry leaders can create better career opportunities for future linemen and improve infrastructure reliability. The discussion around collaboration, innovation, and skills development was very informative. Even organizations using tools like https://calcly.world/ for project planning can benefit from a more skilled and prepared workforce in the coming years.
It is so satisfying to witness SLTC providing advanced training programs from fiber optic splicing to crane operation to meet the needs of modern infrastructure. I love how the post captures the hands on learning environment that prepares youth for high skill jobs which is a perfect workforce development plan. When I need to relieve pressure after learning about new technologies in the industry I often choose to play Drift Boss to enjoy a sense of freedom and keep my reflexes at their sharpest state.
